Acne Scar (atrophic scars and hypertropic scars)

Acne scarring occurs as a result of skin damage during the healing of active acne. They are 2 types of acne scars depending on the inflammatory response towards active acne. However, both scars can coexist in an individual.

  • Atrophic scars occur due to loss of tissue as collagen is destroyed during the inflammatory process. It appears as ice pick scar, rolling scars or boxcar scars.
  • Hypertropic scars develop due to excessive scar tissue formation during the healing process. It is more commonly known as keloid scars.
  • Acne scars often require several sessions of treatment especially in extensive scars.

    Fractional Laser Therapy

CO2 fractional laser delivers pulses to the skin to help removing dead skin cells and promote new cell formation. It stimulates collagen regeneration and is able to break down superficial scar tissues. However, it has a downtime of 7-10 days. You will experience redness, darkening of the skin, peeling of the skin and mild itchiness. It is the normal cycle of full-face fractional laser therapy.

    Derma Fillers

A healthy lifestyle consists of balance diet, sufficient resting time, good stress management and regular exercise is important in fighting acne.

    PRP (platelet rich plasma)

It is a technique using concentrated healing factors derived from your blood to help restore and rejuvenate the skin. The act of injecting PRP into the skin mimics an injury response and subsequently activating the healing and growth factors within the injected PRP. It speeds up recovery and helps in repairing damage tissue. Your skin will be able to regenerate in the most natural way.
